CONTEMPORARY?
Arts Printing House – Venue for Performing Arts and Production House | Lithuania
Agnė Ramanauskaitė, Paulius Tamolė, Mantas Stabačinskas
This is probably the first time in Lithuania that three artists have together created a performance looking suchlike at the own contemporary dance scene. Contemporary? is focusing most ironically on the processes of dance production parodying cliché movements, phrases, even costume details. What does a contemporary dance piece consist of? What does it talk about? Which objects are necessary and which are optional? Does the audience understand what it is all about? Do we need to explain the meaning of the piece to the audience? The answer is: just do it.
The performance – resulting from the Open Stage program for young artists, hosted by Arts Printing House (Lithuania) – received the Golden Stage Cross Award in the category Performing Arts Phenomenon for 2013.
